Backtracking

Goodbye 2007.

Throughout 2007 I have kept a calendar for Ché of all the things that have gone on. It was a blank baby themed calendar that I bought at the Hallm@rk store. We started it in December of 2006, and I just finished it.
In looking through it I am amazed at how Ché, Mike and I have changed. Looking at the picture of us coming off of the plane in 2006, we all looked so scared, we didn't know what to do, we didn't know what the night was going to bring and what the year ahead would do to all of us. I have to say, it's been a great year, all considering everything that has gone on.

Looking back it wasn't just Ché that made 2007 memorable, there were a lot of things, but it certainly made things more interesting when we got to look at them through Ché's eyes. It's amazing how a simple trip to Lake Michigan can turn into a great adventure, or a zoo trip can be an hour of wonderment.

Here are a few of our favorite photos from 2007:

Janruary -- Our re-adoption ceremony. We were waiting in Grandpa's office for our turn to go into the courtroom. Ché decided to take a break with Daddy.

Our first ear of corn. It quickly became Ché's favorite food. Coincidentally, he got the meaning of touchdown right around this time!

Sock Hands. I'm sure it's bound to catch on. I went to get my own breakfast from the kitchen, and this is what I came back to find. Good thing you still have enough dexterity to eat with a spoon and pick up a sipper cup.

Ché spent 45 minutes doling out the flour to us while we rolled out Christmas Keiflie cookies. He had a great time and by the end was covered in floor, and so was the counter, floor, our shoes,

Ché's first time in the grass. He was more interested in the sticks and proceeded to steal them all. Note the socks with sandals. Wouldn't wear the sandals without them until July. This was taken in March.

Raking and playing with leaves. We had a great time, even though it was dark out and was starting to rain!

Here's to a great 2008!
**Update on my dad: About a week before Christmas Dad had a scan again. It came back that the tumor has not grown and the Doctor said he can stay on this Chemo drug for years. IT was quite a Christmas present and we are all thrilled. We are now working on getting some of his strength back and making it so that he doesn't fall as much.
